Our highly anticipated publication returns, 2022 sees the fifth edition of our taxation report, 'The Global 100'. The Global 100 publication has long shone a light on the motivations circumstances and remunerations of Partners who have moved roles, as well as comparative data from five years.

In addition to our insights we also have a follow on interview with  Marvin Rust, Managing Director and Head of Alvarez and Marsal Taxand U.K & Europe.

Our findings

The global gender gap has taken a significant step backwards. Only 19% of our 2021 cohort were female movers. This is the lowest representation of lateral female hires since we started this publication in 2016.

Career progression and company culture were the most deciding factors this year. This was true for both men and women, 76% of respondents citing career progression as a factor. It was a higher priority for men than women.

Company culture also came in as a decisive factor for both men and women, at 65%. While it was only the second most important factor this year, it has long been a crucial factor behind candidates' moves.
